3 Ways to Bring that ‘Personal Touch’ to Your Holidays

Happy December friends! It’s officially crunch time for the holidays. As we get down the decorations, start making our wish lists, and preparing for the upcoming celebrations, we might feel a bit discouraged. We get it, it’s hard to feel joyful when we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Everything seems fake, virtual, and generally impersonal.

There’s no way to avoid it- this holiday season (no matter what you celebrate) will inherently feel different this year. As we, at Invites Ink, prepare for our adjustments to the changing landscape, we too want to be there for you through this process as well. That’s why this December our main mission is to help you discover inventive, unique ways to instill those traditions, love, and cheer into your upcoming holiday and winter season.

So, let’s not waste anymore time.

Here’s three ways you can re-instill that “personal touch” into your winter/holiday season:

Holiday Cards

Nothing screams Christmas more than receiving a multitude of holiday cards- from friends, family, colleagues, etc. Our holiday cards have become an avenue to reconnecting with loved ones and reflecting on our previous year.

Did your daughter learn to walk? Did your son get into college? Did you accept a new position?

These are traditionally what we like to discuss in our letters, but this year feels a bit like a giant standstill. That doesn’t mean you can’t still invest in holiday cards, or that they are any less important. In fact, we are huge advocates for holiday cards ESPECIALLY this season.

As we remain in our homes, away from loved ones, it is hard to feel that love and connection with others that usually make our holidays, well, the holidays. So, send a card. Choose from blank cards (perfect for long letter writing), beautiful winter cottage designs (perfect for the home-style 2020 reflection), or an assortment of classic and elegant style invitations (this year is just as important as the last after all!)

Don’t just sign your cards this year. Pick those you want to reach out to most, and spend the next few weeks writing them letters that really tell them how you feel. Have a special memory? Want to share pictures? Want to tell them how much you love them? It’s the year for it.

Gift Giving

This year it's extremely important that you support local and small businesses who are struggling due to the COVID economy. In the past, we’ve been busy - running around to school plays, having winter work parties, going from here and there, and everywhere. This year, not so much. So, buying something mass produced and generic seems to feel even more impersonal than it has in the past.

How busy are you really?

Not to mention, for many families, money is tight. So isn’t it better to get one really great, personal gift than three basic ones? Great examples of this are picking up some of our kitchen sets - cutting boards, wooden spoons, coasters, cheese boards, etc. Have them personalized or pick out a lovely design! Both functional and fashionable- it is the perfect at-home Christmas gift this season.

Upcoming Events

News Alert: You don’t have to cancel your upcoming Holiday events. You just have to get creative in how you carry them out. We suggest Zoom events- have a virtual game night, a cocktail night, or just a catch up filled with laughs and favorite holiday memories. Send out invites to friends, family, colleagues, etc.

However, if you are fortunate enough to have a socially distant or outdoor event, we recommend keeping your numbers small and...using Invites Ink for your upcoming invitations!
